This chair was made as a part of a paper tableau that was exhibited during the art in public spaces festival, KAFKA in Waterloo, Ontario. The tableau was an intervention into the lounge part of a public library where, surrounded by books, it contextually challenged the preconceptions of what paper is for and its limitations as a fragile material.
The chair was designed after chair designs of the 1960s and resembled other chairs in the lounge area. Built to be functional and comfortable, it was also accompanied by a functional paper light, table and some plants.
All parts of the tableau are currently available for purchase in our shop
