Concept

Pause at the Threshold considers the potential of everyday objects provoking a moment of pause during our day and becoming opportunities for unexpected discovery.

Pause at the Threshold is about injecting a little awareness into a typically unconscious moment, whether it be to remember not to forget something as you leave or to enter into the home in the right frame of mind.

Our necessary interaction with the door handle makes it a perfect place for such a daily reminder. The idea originated from the temporary tattoos left on ankles by socks and on faces by pillowcases.

We see Pause at the Threshold also as an opportunity for a customizable pressing plate, perhaps with a variety plate options. Thumbs become a canvas and point of connection.
