The screen was designed during our residency with Design Week Mexico in collaboration with the Master Craftsmen Rogelio Rojas. Two designs came from this exchange, To the Bone and Petate Uno, Petate Dos, both for the Tributo collection.
Inspired by the process and the material itself, we designed a three-panel room divider to highlight the possibilities of chuspata weaving.
Each panel represents a different weaving style with the central one being a collage of several patterns. Our intention was for the screen to represent an overview of the tradition used in the community for generations, but also to expose the material in its raw form in the loose areas of the edges.

Tributo is a multidisciplinary design company based in Guadalajara, Mexico. They take pride in merging the work of contemporary designers and traditional producers through the appreciation of cultural heritage, local materials and artisanship.
